Pink is the new black

Is this really true? After 3 incidents I faced, I wanted to find out the truth behind pink.



First: At the recent MTV Style Awards, Manish Malhotra, India’s leading fashion designer declared in his thank you speech, “Pink is the new black.”



Second: “Shocking Pink.” This was the heading of print ad for ‘ties’ in a men’s magazine.

Third: “Pretty in Pink.” This was the heading of a news article in TOI’s Calcutta Times. “From being a girlie color, pink has emerged as a style statement for both the sexes. It’s time for everything from cuddly teddy bears, to T-shirts to the accessories like belts and bags to go pink.” And now even cell phones (Motorola’s Pink RAZR V3)



I don’t know how true this is. I think pink is a girlie color and I believe that “if you don’t know what to wear, wear black.”
