On 3rd April 2006 I celebrated my BEST birthday in 23 years. It all started with phone calls at midnight of friends and family, who wanted to be the first to wish me a happy birthday. Calls came from Thailand, Bombay, Siliguri and of course Calcutta (home town.) I slept late, therefore woke up late (10am.) Went to the bank first then took my sister to the doctor for check-up. Watched The Ring for 30 minutes and then fell asleep.

In the evening I went to Dhakhineswar temple for distributing snacks and sweets to the needy (old) people. This was my parent’s idea. They always tell me, what’s the point of spending money on treating friends at fancy restaurants? They do not NEED to have food at the restaurant. Whereas if I distribute food to the people who really need it, all those people who get the food will be so happy. A close family-friend Rao uncle helped me distributing the food at the temple.

When I got back from the temple, I was supposed to take my family members to a restaurant for dinner. It was supposed to be only family. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was shocked. I saw six of my friends already there with surprise birthday party ready. They all started to sing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” for me. I was moved. It was my first ever surprise birthday party. This was all my dear Manju didi’s (sister) idea, she told Yogesh and my other friends to organise a surprise birthday party for me.

Oh I forgot to mention, I had three birthday cakes. Two chocolate and one black forest. One my sister (Medha) got for me, the second one my friends and the third one was given by my dearest friend Vineet.

I had a real fun day. It was my best birthday till date. Thanks to all my friends and family. I love you guys. Thanks for the great day.
